An outbreak of the Ebola virus in Uganda: Traditional funeral ceremonies cannot be allowed for fear of the corpse infecting other family members. Families may request a home burial and prepare a grave, but may not handle the body. Clothes and bedding of the deceased are burned. The virus causes massive hemorrhaging, and is highly infectious. There is no cure, and it kills around half the people infected.
