Wrestlers from the Jola tribe strut their stuff. Traditional wrestling in Africa is giving way in popularity to Western-style sports such as football. But in Gambia wrestling matches are still exciting, highly visual displays that attract crowds of local spectators. Dressed in bright loincloths, their bodies and arms covered in charms, wrestlers from different tribes parade around the ring to the sound of drums, flutes and whistles.
