Modern-day circuses balance tradition with innovation. While old-style outfits of sawdust, Big Top and performing animals still exist, many circuses are becoming more theatrical in their presentation. The latest in sound and lighting technology is grafted on to traditional skill, even in long-established Italian circus families.
