A street scene in the Australian outback. Wiluna is situated nearly 1,000 km northeast of Perth, and has a population of 300, most of whom are Aboriginal. As with many outback towns, Wiluna's isolation means that its social problems are not on mainstream political agendas. Many families live in poverty; alcohol consumption is high and substance abuse and children's health issues have become major concerns.
