Three Mennonite women. Named after Menno Simons, a dissident 16th-century priest, the Mennonites are a Protestant sect with strict ascetic and pacifist beliefs, which make it impossible for them to fit into modern society. In the 1920s thousands of Mennonites moved from Canada to Mexico.
