Simon, a Rwandan Hutu refugee boy who fled his country during the 1994 Rwandan Genocide and who had lost his family, clasps his grandmother Seraphine in his arms in Mudaka Camp in Zaire (DR Congo). She has just been found again after a year of separation and research. From April to July 1994, some one-and-a-half million Rwandans fled their country. In the confusion, 27,000 children were separated from their families. Mobile photo studios and exhibitions were organized by aid organizations to facilitate identification of these children.
