With just one medic remaining, brothers of deceased Bosnian soldier Remzija Aljukic succumb to their grief. After Remzija was shot by a Serb sniper, his brothers, who served in the same unit, rushed him to nearby Kosevo Hospital, a front-line medical center with only the most basic facilities. He died a few minutes after arriving at the emergency ward. Just as the doctors gave up trying to revive Remzija, his brothers burst into the room. At the time, between 15 and 30 war casualties died at the hospital every day.
