The ultra right wing Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB, Afrikaner Resistance Movement) and the South African police clash for the first time in 43 years of Apartheid. The AWB tried to disrupt a speech by South Africa’s President De Klerk in Ventersdorp, North West province. During the rioting, four people were killed.
