Benazir Bhutto drives through a small village in the Punjab province, during her election campaign in Pakistan. The general elections on 16 November 1988 were the first free elections in 11 years and became a victory for the Pakistan Peoples Party, led by Bhutto. She became the first female Prime Minister of an Islamic country.
