An injured Taliban soldier is killed by three soldiers firing simultaneously into his body after being captured by Northern Alliance soldiers advancing towards Kabul. Northern Alliance troops, opposed to the ruling Taliban, took control of Kabul on November 13. The frontline assault followed air strikes on Taliban targets ordered by US president George W. Bush. He accused the regime of protecting Osama bin Laden, held responsible by the US for the attacks of September 11.
