Marjorie Bell's daughter Michael keeps a vigil by her side and when it is over, the dog Tonka pays his last respects. Marjorie, a terminal cancer patient, struggles to die with dignity. She refused to have her life prolonged by artificial life-sustaining methods, preferring to stay at home where she could be in control.
