The border the United States shares with Mexico is nearly 2,000 miles long and is comprised of numerous natural and man-made barriers. The construction of the most significant man-made barrier, “The Fence” started in 2006, has cost more than 3 billion dollars and spans around 700 miles (1,126 km). This documentary, made in June 2014, follows the residents, border patrol agents and immigrants who pass back and forth across the border every day. It explores their feelings about The Fence and investigates what it has achieved as an instrument of immigration reform.
