Yuri Vasilyevich Abramochkin (Moscow, 1936) made his first photo reportage at the Moscow International Youth Festival in 1957. In 1961, he joined the Soviet press agency RIA Novosti, where he stayed many years. He also worked for magazines such as Life and Paris Match.
