Tina Ahrens is the Director of Photography at ZEIT ONLINE.
She previously worked as the Director of Photography at Philosophie magazine in Germany for nine years, where she led the magazine’s redesign in collaboration with design duo Meire & Meire. Before that, she was the Photo Editor at GEO magazine in Hamburg and later a Senior Photo Editor at GEO’s New York office, overseeing numerous award-winning projects. She went on to become a Visual Consultant for CNN Digital and developed a new visual identity for GEO magazine alongside Art Director Anna-Clea Skoluda.
Tina was an affiliate Nieman Fellow at Harvard University and has worked as an Impact Producer for “The Enemy”, an acclaimed virtual reality installation developed with M.I.T. She has served as a jury member and portfolio reviewer at several international festivals and awards.
