Srdjan Ilic was born in Belgrade in 1966. From 1984, he worked for newspapers and magazines published by Politika, the largest printing house in the Balkans. In 1990 he joined the Associated Press’s Belgrade office, covering conflicts and news events in the Balkan countries, the Middle East and Iran. Ilic has received awards for his work on Kosovo and the fall of Milosevic. He held the position of chief AP photographer for Yugoslavia and Macedonia between 1998 and 2010, when he became a freelance photographer. In 2012, he was named CEO assistant for photography at Tanjug, the Serbian national news agency.
