Shaofeng Xu was born in Tibet, in 1978, and first studied civil engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, in Hubei province, China, before changing course to journalism. From 2007 to 2011, he worked as a photographer for Chutian Metropolis Daily, and since 2011 has worked with the Chengdu Business Daily.
