The World Press Photo Foundation releases a technical report reviewing a range of issues related to the 2017 Photo Contest
Posted March 3 2017
Lars Boering, managing director of the World Press Photo Foundation, said:
"This is World Press Photo’s second year to release a technical report reviewing the photo contest. As part of our desire to be more transparent about our activities, we are making public data on the contest related to issues of diversity, representation, and verification.
This report is intended to further inform conversation within our community of professional visual journalism. It has been compiled in the weeks after the 2017 Photo Contest winners’ announcement, and although it is not intended to be a comprehensive presentation of all aspects of all the relevant issues, we hope it can be a catalyst for debate.”
