Randa Shaath is a freelance photographer based in Cairo. She was formerly the Photo Editor and Founder of the Photography Department at the Egyptian Al-Shorouk newspaper. Additionally, she has worked as a photographer for Al-Ahram Weekly, as a photographer and designer of children's books at Dar Al-Fata Al-Arabi Publishing House, and as co-editor of Zawaya Magazine.
Randa has served as a mentor in the Arab Documentary Photography Program for the past 10 years, since its inception. The program is a collaborative initiative between the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC), the Magnum Foundation, and the Prince Claus Fund. She has taught photojournalism at the American University in Cairo (AUC) and has exhibited her work both in Egypt and internationally. Additionally, she has published four books.
