Leong Puiyee is a film programmer and manager based in Singapore. She has worked on numerous film programmes and projects throughout her career. As Programme Manager for the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) from 2014 - 2019, she takes lead of the Short Films programme and is the co-programmer of the Singapore Panorama section, supporting a community of Southeast Asian filmmakers through these programmes.
Her passion for independent films is exemplified through her involvement in programmes such as the Singapore Short Film Awards, Women in Film, National Youth Film Awards and the Fly By Night Video Challenge. In 2017 and 2018, she was part of the pre-selection committee of SEAShorts Film Festival, an essential short film platform in the region. She was also part of the selection committee of the inaugural Singapore Shorts 2018 programme, organised by the Asian Film Archive.
Puiyee is currently the film manager at Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film, a non-profit visual arts space where she began her career more than a decade ago. She continues to promote short films from Singapore as a programmer, most evidently through the S-express programme, an annual travelling short film programme featuring the latest short films from the Southeast Asian region.
