Anna Shpakova is an independent photo editor, cultural producer, and educator.
She has worked as a director of photography at several leading magazines in
Russia, including Afisha, Ogoniok, and Snob, as well as the international news agency RIA Novosti.
She worked as an exhibition curator both in Russia and internationally, including at the Moscow Biennial, Moscow Multimedia Art Museum, Rencontres d’Arles, PhotoEspana, WARM Festival, Berlin Foto Festival, and Tbilisi Photo Festival.
She is a commissaire of Russia for PhotoQuai Biennal and Musée Branly in Paris, France, and founder of the photography department of the British Higher School of Art and Design in Moscow.
Shpakova graduated in Psychoanalysis, Psychology of Art from Moscow State University.
