Michelle Mizner

Michelle Mizner is an Emmy-winning documentary maker on staff at FRONTLINE PBS.

With skills and experience as a director, producer, writer, shooter, film and audio editor, her work for the series spans many storytelling forms. During her first year on staff, she produced 'Inheritance', an interactive documentary that earned a News and Documentary Emmy for Outstanding New Approaches, a Peabody Awards nomination, and was recognized by the Peabodys with an inaugural 'Futures of Media' award.

The next interactive film she produced, shot and edited, 'The Last Generation', told the stories of three children growing up in the Marshall Islands, a low-lying nation threatened by rising sea levels. The project was a collaboration between FRONTLINE and The GroundTruth Project, as part of a climate change reporting initiative. 'The Last Generation' won an Online Journalism Award, and was among eight projects cited in FRONTLINE’s 2018 duPont-Columbia Gold Baton award.

Mizner’s work has also appeared on the national television broadcast. In 2017, she produced and edited 'Inside Yemen' with correspondent Martin Smith. The film was nominated for a News and Documentary Emmy for Best Story in a News Magazine. She has edited multiple films for FRONTLINE, including 'Stickup Kid' (dir. Caitlin McNally) and 'Seperated: Children at the Border' (dir. Marcela Gaviria), and has produced two episodes of FRONTLINE’s new podcast 'The Dispatch'. No matter the form, Michelle’s main obsession is to find and tell great stories.
