Brendan Smialowski is a photojournalist based in the United States.
He joined the staff of Agence France-Presse in 2012. Prior to this, he worked as a freelancer with wire services, newspapers, and magazines.
During university, he studied history and freelanced between classes, later moving to Washington, DC. Smialowski is a general news journalist.
Much of his work is politics based, both domestically and internationally.Throughout his career, he has covered sports, conflict, disaster, and human interest stories.
