Pete Muller

Pete Muller (b. 1982) is an American photographer and researcher whose interdisciplinary work addresses masculinity, conflict and human ecology.
His ongoing project, A Tale of Two Wolves: A Study of Men and Behavior, examines the interplay between masculinity, male experience, sexuality and violence. From 2008-2018, he was based in East Africa where he worked extensively in South Sudan and eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
He is currently a National Geographic Photography Fellow conducting visual and ethnographic research on the emotional impact of environmental change. In 2017-18, he served as the Cyrus Vance Visiting Professor of International Relations at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts.
He is a contributing photographer to National Geographic Magazine, TIME Magazine, and the Washington Post and has received awards from World Press Photo, Pictures of the Year International, the Overseas Press Club and others.
