Miroslav Martinovsky (Prague, Czechoslovakia, 1945) was trained as a photographer in applied and industrial photography. During and after his studies, he worked as a photographer for the newspaper Lidova Demokracie. In 1966, he moved to Pionyrske, a weekly magazine for young people, and when this magazine stopped in 1968 he went to work for Sedmicka, a magazineĀ for children between 10 and 15 years old, where he stayed until 1992. Between 1992 and 1997 he worked for Mlady svet (Young World) and between 1999 and 2000 for Nedelni noviny. Since 2000 Martinovsky works a freelance photographer.
