Russian photojournalist Lev Sherstennikov (Ufa, 1938) graduated from Leningrad Institute of Cinema Engineering. From 1957 onwards, he began to publish his photos in the magazine Sovetskoye Foto and in Leningrad newspapers such as Smena, Vecherny Leningrad and Leningradskaya Pravda. In 1962, he became a correspondent for Literarturnaya Gazeta, and in 1963 he joined Ogonyok Magazine.
