He is an independent photojournalist with the Gamma agency after the Romanian insurrection of 1990, then with the American magazine Newsweek in 2001 and the Getty agency in 2010. He has since photographed most of the wars of this period and especially ex-Yugoslavia, Chechnya, Iraq. His stories have been published internationally by all major magazines and dailies. They have been regularly rewarded and exhibited. Since 2012, he collaborates mainly with the French daily Le Monde with long reportages in Syria and Iraq.
