He left Hamburg University with a degree in political science and geography in 2001. In 2002 he went on to study photojournalism at Hannover University of Applied Sciences and started working as a freelance photographer at the same time.
His work has been published in or commissioned by Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, GEO, Stern, Spiegel and many more.
In 2010 Jesco became official photographer of the German Government and covers the Chancellor's and President's activities worldwide. At the same time, he continues to work freelance and on individual documentary projects that focus on social and economic issues.
