Jasper Doest is a Dutch photographer who creates visual stories that explore the relationship between humankind and nature.
As an ecology major Doest knows human life depends on everything our planet has to offer, yet he recognizes the unsustainable nature of the current human patterns of consumption. Through his photographic work, he gives a voice to the natural world and tries to bridge the gap between the natural world and ourselves.
Being a true believer in the power of photography to initiate change, Doest is a Senior Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers and a Dutch World Wildlife Fund ambassador.
He is a contributing photographer for National Geographic magazine and received numerous awards, including World Press Photo and Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Doest frequently lectures on photography, conservation and global sustainability and has presented at venues such as the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Bonn and The Royal Geographical Society in London.
