Elyor Nemat, born in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, is a documentary photographer, film director, and graphic artist.
Elyor conducts workshops on documentary filmmaking and photography teaching students to produce stories relevant to Central Asia.
His work primarily covers human-interest stories. Among his projects are: I am a Foreigner, focusing on labor migration from Central Asia; My Name is Woman, about bride kidnapping and women’s rights in Kyrgyzstan; Father Comes Tomorrow, documenting migrant workers' families left behind; Stolen Spring, on forced labor in Kazakhstan; and Dedovshina, about military hazing and conscripts kidnapping for mandatory service.
