Zuzia is a girl with albinism, and attends a school for partially sighted children in Warsaw. She dreams of meeting someone like herself.
Albinism is caused by a recessive gene (passed to a child by both parents) that deprives the skin, hair, and eyes of pigment. This can cause serious eye problems.
Because pigment plays a role in protecting the skin from ultraviolet radiation, people with albinism are highly susceptible to the adverse effects of overexposure to sunlight.
