A young journalist from Mosul returns to his war-devastated city in order to be a part of its future. Having fled to Europe to escape the conflict in Iraq, Ghadeer finds hope for Mosul’s recovery in recent European history and the post-war effort. Through Radio One FM—which is self-financed and with no political support—Ghadeer spreads positive messages. He represents the energy of a young civil society that is emerging from the rubble. This short film challenges mainstream narratives of refugees, showing the importance of self-determination and emphasizing that communication is central to cultural transformation.
