In 2003, he joined Oriental Morning Post in Shanghai as deputy chief editor. He innovated the visuals’ workflow, teamed photojournalists with designers and photo editors, and built a well-rounded visuals team, which set a new model for other metropolitan newspapers in the country.
In 2014, Chang He led the Oriental Morning Post’s visuals team to transform to new media platforms. The team is now part of Thepaper.cn, which is the most downloaded original news app in China.
Chang He’s photo series about zoos in China won the second prize in the nature category of the 2007 World Press Photo Contest.
