Frederick Keith Hoare was a staff photographer with the Belfast Telegraph before joining the Daily Mirror in February 1972. In 1966, he was awarded the Irish Photogrpaher of the Year award and in 1968 he became the first British photographer to be awarded the Travel Fellowship by the Commonwealth Press Union, working in New Zealand and South East Asia.
