The World Press Photo Foundation is releasing a technical report reviewing a range of issues related to the 2018 Photo Contest.
Lars Boering, managing director of the World Press Photo Foundation, said:
"This is World Press Photo’s third year to release a technical report reviewing the photo contest. As part of our desire to be more transparent about our activities, we are making public data on the contest related to issues of diversity, representation, and verification.
This report is intended to further inform conversation within our community of professional visual journalism. It has been compiled in the weeks after the 2018 Photo Contest nominees announcement, and although it is not intended to be a comprehensive presentation of all aspects of all the relevant issues, we hope it can be a catalyst for debate.”
