She recently edited several books and curated an exhibition on conceptual photography in Europe that was opened in Bejing in October 2016.
She has been the director of photography of the GEO magazines, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, from 1994 to 2015 and their editor-at-large until August 2016. She oversaw a department that shaped the photographic direction of the different magazines and most of the foreign editions, working directly with contributing photographers from around the globe.
From 1988 to 1994, Eichhorn worked out of the New York office for German GEO, as their bureau chief. Eichhorn has curated and organized numerous exhibitions and edited a range of photo books over the years. She is a member of the Unicef Photo of the Year jury from the start, and was a member of the 2004, 2006 and 2010 World Press Photo juries. She was also member of other juries as ,POYi (Picture of the Year Award), CHIPP (Chinese International Press Photo), World Photography Award, Visual Lead Award in Germany and many others.
