He was a photojournalist for the Comet Newspaper in 1999, before working with the Associated Press in Lagos between 2001 and 2008.
George has covered many assignments for both local and international organisations, and his photographs have been published in the New York Times, Time Magazine, The Guardian, The Telegraph, USA Today, The International Herald Tribune, CNN, BBC Focus on Africa and many more.
George has won a number of major international awards, including the Fuji Africa Photojournalist of the Year award in 2004 (Features). His work was exhibited at documenta 12 in Germany in 2007, and his photo book Delta Nigeria: The Rape of Paradise was published by Trolley Books in 2008.
