Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Nicole Becker began her career as a photo documentarist for Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Cologne, Germany. In 2001, she worked as the photo editor for special interest magazines at the editorial agency Redaktionsbüro Fred Wipperfürth. Becker began her career at Deutsche Presse-Agentur as a sports photo editor in 2005 and is now the senior sports photo editor. She has overseen the coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the 2008 European Swimming Championships in Eindhoven, the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin, the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and the 2011 Women’s World Cup in Germany, among others.
