Dewi Lewis, UK, was the founding director of Cornerhouse, Manchester, a major UK venue for film and visual arts, where he established Cornerhouse Publications, a winner of the Sunday Times Small Publisher Award. In 1994, Lewis founded his own publishing company, which has published many leading international photographers including Martin Parr, Simon Norfolk, Paolo Pellegrin, Bruce Gilden and Frank Horvat.
A founding member of The European Publishers Award for Photography, now in its 17th year, Lewis works in close collaboration with several European publishers. A regular lecturer and portfolio reviewer, he is author of Publishing Photography. He has also worked as an arts and media consultant advising a broad range of organizations on building projects and programming.
Dewi Lewis was appointed an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 2004 and in November 2009 he was awarded the inaugural Royal Photographic Society Award for Outstanding Service to Photography.
